Who is Treasure Cove good for?
Everyone, which is the point. The park’s other marquee rides — the TRON coaster in Tomorrowland, Soaring and Roaring Rapids in Adventure Isle — all carry height minimums between 102 and 122 cm. Treasure Cove has none, so it is often the first genuine headliner that families with toddlers can enjoy without splitting up or using rider switch.
The theming rewards a slow visit too. Even if you only plan to ride once, the bay, the fort and the moored ship are worth a walk-through, and the queue itself is part of the show rather than a corridor.
When should I ride Pirates of the Caribbean?
The Pirates boats have high capacity and load continuously, so the standby line moves faster than its posted number suggests. Outside peak dates you rarely need to plan around it — a mid-afternoon ride when the sun is high and the outdoor coasters are busy is a smart use of the time.
On the busiest dates, ride it early or late instead. The park usually opens around 08:30 and closes near 20:30, though high-season and holiday dates run later; confirm the day’s hours before you go, as the schedule is only published about two weeks ahead. Avoid Chinese New Year, the October 1–7 national holiday and the summer school break if you can, when every queue in the park is at its longest.
Should I buy Premier Access for Treasure Cove?
Usually no. Paid Disney Premier Access runs roughly 140–180 CNY per attraction, and because the Pirates ride swallows crowds so efficiently, that money is better spent on the height-restricted coasters that build real queues. Save Premier Access for TRON or Soaring Over the Horizon and take Pirates in standby.
The exception is the true peak days. On Chinese New Year, the October Golden Week or a hot summer weekend, even high-capacity rides post long waits, and buying priority here can be worth it. Check live wait times in the official app on the day and decide then rather than pre-committing.
