Voyage to the Crystal Grotto is a slow, outdoor-then-indoor boat tour in Fantasyland, listed on the official Shanghai Disney Resort site under its “Slow Rides” category. It opened with the park on 16 June 2016. Your boat glides past sculpture gardens themed to five Disney stories — Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tangled, Mulan and The Little Mermaid — before the real payoff: it sails into an indoor grotto chamber built beneath the Enchanted Storybook Castle itself.
That last part is the reason to ride it. No other attraction at Shanghai Disneyland takes you physically inside the castle.
