Shanghai Park Guide is an independent visitor’s guide to Shanghai Disney Resort. We are travellers, researchers and writers — not the resort, and not a travel agency. Our aim is a single, honest reference for planning a visit, written for people arriving from outside mainland China who have to juggle tickets, hotels, transfers, blocked apps and a language barrier all at once.

This page explains who stands behind the site, how we work, how we pay for it, and how to reach us. We put it here because a guide that asks you to trust its prices, its routes and its recommendations owes you that transparency first.

We are not Disney

Let’s get the most important thing out of the way. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company, Shanghai Disney Resort, or any of their subsidiaries. All trademarks, attraction names and character names belong to their respective owners and are used here only to describe the park for editorial and informational purposes.

Because we are independent, there are things we simply cannot do: we do not sell official tickets, we cannot access, change or cancel a booking, and we cannot answer guest-services or lost-property questions. For anything official — live opening hours, the date-based ticket calendar, height requirements, bag-check rules, accessibility services — the resort’s own website is the only authoritative source: shanghaidisneyresort.com. When our guidance and the official site ever disagree, believe the official site.

How we research and verify

Independence is only worth something if the information is accurate. Our editorial process rests on a few firm rules:

• Official sources first. Prices, opening hours, height limits and ride details are taken from, and cross-checked against, the resort’s official channels and other primary sources rather than repeated from other blogs.
• Shared facts, one source of truth. Figures that appear across several pages (ticket tiers, metro line, opening times) come from a single internal reference, so the whole guide stays consistent and a correction only has to be made once.
• Dated price checks. Prices in China change often. Where a price matters, we show the date we last verified it, so you can judge how fresh the number is instead of trusting it blindly. A fact with a date is an honest fact.
• We say when we are unsure. If something varies by season, is announced only a couple of weeks ahead, or hasn’t been confirmed, we say so plainly rather than inventing false certainty.

None of this makes us infallible. The park changes, and pages can fall behind reality between updates — which is exactly why the corrections section below matters.

About our illustrations

The artwork across this site is our own, and it is deliberately stylised. We draw the mood and layout of the park rather than photograph its rides and buildings. We do this on purpose, and we want it stated clearly: we never present an illustration as a real photograph of an attraction. If you are looking at a picture on this site, you are looking at original artwork made for the guide — not documentation of exactly how a ride looks today. For the real thing, see the official site or the park itself.

How the site is paid for

Running a guide takes time and money, and we would rather be upfront about how it’s funded than pretend it costs nothing.

Some of the links on this site — particularly on the tickets, hotels and transfer pages — are affiliate links. If you click one and then book, we may earn a small commission from that partner (for example Klook, Trip.com or Booking.com). This comes at no extra cost to you: you pay the same price you would have paid anyway.

Two promises come with that:

1. Commission never changes the price you pay. The partner sets the price; our link does not add to it.
2. Commission never decides what we recommend. We are not paid for placement or reviews. We point you to the option we would choose ourselves — and where we don’t yet have a partner link, we simply send you to the official site. When a page contains affiliate links, we say so.

Corrections and updates

We would genuinely rather hear that something is wrong than leave a reader with a stale price or a closed ride. Every substantive page shows when it was last updated, and we revise pages as the park, prices and hours change. If you spot something out of date, unclear, or simply mistaken, tell us — we treat corrections as a priority, not a nuisance.

Shanghai Park Guide is produced by a small independent editorial team rather than by a single named columnist. The same standards above apply to every page, in every language: the guide is written natively for each audience, not machine-translated, and reviewed against our shared facts before it goes live.
